Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Novus Task. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional policies or guidelines we make available within the product.
Novus Task is an application owned and operated by JrodCode. References to "we," "us," or "our" in these Terms of Service mean JrodCode and Novus Task.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Novus Task, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.
Description of Service
Novus Task is a cloud-based project and task management platform provided by JrodCode. The service includes, among other features:
- Multiple task views: Board (Kanban), Calendar, Gantt, List, and Sprint planning
- Projects, custom statuses, custom fields, status templates, and team collaboration with role-based access
- Task management including subtasks, dependencies, recurrence, comments, @mentions, drafts, archive, bulk actions, and import/export
- Sprint planning with story points; advanced reporting, burndown, and velocity on eligible plans
- In-app notifications, support tickets, guides, and global search
- Security features including two-factor authentication (2FA) and sign-in history
- Optional integrations with Slack, Google Calendar, and Apple CalDAV
- Developer API access on Pro and Enterprise plans
- AI task draft and summaries on the Pro add-on
- White-label branding on Enterprise plans
We may add, modify, or discontinue features from time to time. Current feature availability may depend on your subscription plan.
User Accounts and Roles
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and enabling security features such as 2FA where available
- All activities that occur under your account, including actions performed through connected integrations (for example, tasks created via Slack) or API keys issued by your company
- Ensuring the accuracy of information you provide about your company, team members, and billing details
- Reviewing sign-in history and notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access
The service supports company workspaces with roles (admin, editor, user, and guest). Company admins manage users, invites, billing, integrations, and certain workspace settings. You agree to assign roles appropriately and to respect access controls within your organization.
Plans, Billing, and Usage Limits
We offer a free tier for up to 5 team members (3 projects, 100 tasks, 1 workspace), plus optional paid seats at $2.99/user/month and a Pro add-on for unlimited projects/tasks, API access, advanced reporting, AI task draft and summaries, and white-label branding. Plan details are on our Pricing page and may change with reasonable notice where required.
Current plan structure:
- Free: Up to 5 team members, 3 projects, 100 tasks, 1 workspace, Board/List/Calendar views, comments, and CSV import
- Paid seats: Additional users beyond 5 at $2.99/user/month; unlocks higher limits (25 projects, 500 tasks, 5 workspaces), Gantt & sprint views, time tracking, forms, file uploads, and custom workflows
- Pro add-on: Unlimited projects and tasks, API access, advanced reporting, AI task draft and summaries, and white-label branding ($9.99/month)
Legacy Basic, Pro, and Enterprise plans may remain active for existing customers until migrated. Usage against plan limits is visible from Settings → Subscription.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (for example, monthly) through Stripe and will automatically renew unless you cancel before the start of the next billing period. You may manage or cancel billing from Settings → Subscription or through the Stripe customer portal where available. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Developer API
Pro and Enterprise plans may include access to our Developer API. API keys are issued to company admins and must be kept confidential. You are responsible for all activity performed with keys created under your account. You agree not to share API keys publicly, embed them in client-side code, or use the API in ways that violate these terms, applicable law, or plan limits. We may suspend API access if we detect abuse or security concerns.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or content that infringes the rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other accounts, API endpoints, or underlying infrastructure
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or use automated means (such as bots or scrapers) in a way that degrades performance or circumvents plan limits
- Reverse engineer, probe, or exploit the service except as expressly permitted by applicable law
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations or encourage others to do so
Intellectual Property
Novus Task and its original content, features, functionality, and branding (except white-label assets you provide on Enterprise plans) are owned by JrodCode and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. White-label features allow eligible customers to display their own branding within the product subject to plan terms and our acceptable use policies.
User Content
You retain ownership of content you create or upload using Novus Task, including projects, tasks, comments, custom fields, attachments, and support ticket messages. By using the service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, use, store, reproduce, and process your content as necessary to operate and improve the service, provide integrations you enable, comply with law, and prevent abuse. You represent that you have the rights to upload and share your content with your team.
Integrations and Third-Party Services
Certain features allow you to connect to third-party services (such as Slack, Google Calendar, Apple CalDAV, or Stripe for payments). Your use of those services is governed by the third party's terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, but we may receive and store limited data from them to provide integrations you authorize. You can disconnect an integration at any time from your account settings, though this may affect related functionality.
Support
Logged-in users may submit support tickets through the application. We will use reasonable efforts to respond but do not guarantee specific response times except where an Enterprise SLA explicitly applies. Support availability may vary by plan.
Account Termination
Company admins may terminate their company account from settings, which may schedule deletion of workspace data after a grace period. We may suspend or terminate your account or access immediately if we believe you have violated these terms, pose a security risk, or are using the service in a way that may harm other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, we may delete or restrict access to your content subject to legal retention requirements.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Novus Task and JrodCode shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) if you use the free plan.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Novus Task, JrodCode, and their operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the product or by email. Your continued use of the service after the revised terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
